概要 By assuming that parents love only part of their children and leave them non-negative bequests, this paper accommodates the overlapping-generations model of Diamond (1965) and that of Weil (1989). Thereby a possible explanation for some stylized facts about wealth distribution is provided. At low levels of capital accumulation, through operative bequests, wealth is unequally distributed within a generation and becomes more concentrated over time. On the other hand, bequests disappear at sufficiently high levels of capital and consequently the wealth inequality is eliminated.
