概要 This paper examines the dynamics of wealth distribution when altruistic parents care about only part of their children and leave them non-negative bequests. In relatively poor countries, wealth inequality across contemporaries arises through operative bequests and the rich few possess a large amount of wealth. By contrast, in sufficiently rich countries, bequests disappear and then the wealth inequality is eliminated. The results are consistent with some key features of the reported facts about wealth distribution. The effect of public debt issues on the wealth distribution is also investigated.
